Principal

About Parkview:

 Celebrating 26 years of history, Parkview Christian Academy has grown from a small private school serving a handful of students to a Pre-K-12 interdenominational school with three campuses in Yorkville, IL. For the 23/24 school year, we are proud to equip 480 students to serve and lead through a high-quality, Christ-centered education. 

The Opportunity:

The principal will be pivotal in developing and improving instruction at our 2nd-6th grade campus. This role requires a mix of vision, strategy and tactical application as our school continues to grow. Aligning with Parkview’s vision and mission, you will craft the direction for our upper elementary students. One of the most important aspects of the principal role is to be the spiritual leader in the building while working staff and parents to continuously improve our Christ-centered educational offerings. Putting students first, this individual will ensure our staff meets the high standards of Parkview’s Christian Education. 

Spiritual Requirements:

  • Adheres to the Statement of Faith listed here
  • Affirmance of being a born-again Christian
  • Will serve as a Christian role model both in and out of school to students and parents
  • Lives according to the school’s interpretation of biblical lifestyle standards
  • Motivate faculty and staff to grow in their faith
  • Regular attendance and participation at church
  • Regular attendance at faculty devotions and chapel

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s in School Leadership strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees hiring of all teachers and support staff, making sure staff adhere to PCA’s Statement of Faith
  • Instruct and discipline students to grow in their walk with the Lord according to the Bible and student handbook
  • Communicate regularly with parents, seeking their support to create a cooperative relationship that supports the students and mission of the school
  • Demonstrate servant leadership in dealing with staff, students, and families of Parkview Christian Academy
  • Take an active interest in the lives of those under their authority by getting to know them personally, discovering where they are spiritually and professionally, and helping them take the next steps for growth in these areas
  • Create the Lower Campus Master Schedule
  • Observe classes on a regular basis to evaluate the instructional methods, strategies, and abilities of the staff while providing constructive feedback as needed to promote teacher excellence and growth
  • Supervise instructional programs 
  • Lead the school in educational objectives, philosophies, and goal implementations in congruence with the DNA of Parkview Christian Academy
  • Lead and help teachers implement best practices in education 
  • Stay abreast of educational developments through conferences, organizations, and publications
  • Keep informed on the latest research, trends, and developments in all areas of education and interpret for staff as necessary
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Board or superintendent
